A Little About Me ~
Feed the Dog
The title of my blog was inspired by Sandy, my aunt’s friendly Labrador Retriever. While babysitting Sandy back in 2016 I was struggling to come up with a name for my Wordpress blog. Then I looked down at her food bowl, and well, it kinda just fit. Over the years the meaning has shifted from physically feeding a dog to feeding my imagination and creative hunger. Hunger that we all have! I hope that by reading my stories and work you can feel inspired to create your own.
Writing
When I was five years old my mom read Dr. Seuss to me. I don’t remember which one, but right after that I made a little book. I fastened it together with staples and string. Inside there was a story about two fish; one red and one blue. I loved the idea of creating something out of nothing. Now my writing has become my therapy and I hope whoever reads it can take away something that sticks with them too.
Undergrad
I studied cinema studies and linguistics at Rutgers University. Before I landed on cinema I was supposed to study English, but admittedly, the reading load sent me scurrying in the opposite direction. Cinema called to me because I realized I just love stories. And after college I have found that my passion for reading and writing is as strong as ever.
Postgrad
I am currently attending Saint Joseph’s University for Writing Studies. I know what you’re thinking: “But didn’t you opt out of English in undergrad?” And, yes! I did. I don’t think I was ready. I love it now and I can’t imagine studying anything else. I just finished my first semester online and have had a blast writing my heart out. I can’t wait to grow my portfolio and share more of my writing on here as I go.
